Action!
What Do Your Actions Say
Where Heart resides,
Action is its shadow —
forever lit by Passion,
burning, giving Life’s seeds motion
to reach for its touch.
Action is present.
Heart inspires roots and leaves
to unfold, to drink from Passion.
But where is your heart
if your actions contradict your words?
Sure, words are action—
but I see:
your movements whisper what your mouth denies.
Do you dream of being One
with your meaning?
Do you mean to do what you say?
Or are you afraid
to show your truth without disguise?
Maybe if you silenced your speech
and simply did what you meant,
the proof would speak
in perfect grammar.
I can paint light,
sweeten your tongue with visions of bliss,
talk sensations into bodies,
imagine the kiss—
but my body won’t buy just words.
I cannot eat the word Apple,
but an apple—I can.
I can say I love you,
or show it.
Say I want you,
or show it.
Say I work hard,
or prove it with the sweat of my hands.
I can say a million, trillion things—
but what do I do?
I can explain my actions,
though you may read them wrong.
I can sing my melody,
though you may not know my song.
I can praise you—a gesture, an act—
or I can care,
and let care be the praise.
Will you feel what I’m saying,
or only want to hear?
If you fall, I’ll be near—
ask those who’ve seen me rise in the snow;
the proof is there.
But if you tear my heart out
and claim to care—
what do your actions say?
What do your actions say?
When you join me in struggle,
offer your hand,
I don’t have to ask—
I know.
Maybe I just want to hear
what your actions already said—
to clarify the vow
if it’s passionately pledged.
Sometimes actions reveal
what intention never meant.
Then how will you answer?
How will you clarify
what you’ve done?
